Academics


(a) Curricular Structure of School:


The school follows Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE). Curriculum for secondary Examination and reserves to itself the right to run the school according to its norms.The aim of the institution is to develop key leadership attributes, self confidence and intellectual curiosity within students through an exhaustive range of academic and co-curricular opportunities.

(b) Students' Council


Gurukripa Senior Secondary School gives students the opportunity to make a positive impact on their school by joining the students’ council. The council consists of 12 members:

  • (i) The School Head Boy
  • (ii) The School Head Girl
  • (iii) The School Cultural Captain
  • (iv) The School Vice Cultural Captain
  • (v) The 4 House Captains
  • (vi) The 4 House Vice Captains

Students who are interested in becoming a member of students council will be interviewed by the school authority.

(c) House System


The house system provides excellent space for student leadership, peer group support and also promotes team spirit. Each Students admitted in to Gurukripa Senior Secondary School will be put into one of the following four school houses:- The four house names were chosen to promote unity in diversity and secularism in school.

  • AZAD HOUSE – Love and Service
  • BHAGAT HOUSE – Fearlessness and Devotion
  • GOKHLE HOUSE – Morality and Peace
  • PRATAP HOUSE – Freedom and Tolerance

For each house , a house captain will be appointed from among the members of school council. Houses have the opportunity to accumulate points throughout the year at events like sports day and various inter-class, inter-house competitions. Recognition will be given to the house earning the highest amount of points there by inculcating a healthy competitive spirit among the students.

(d) Examination and Promotion


Examination may not be the true test of a child’s ability, but regular classroom tests and periodic assessments at the school level are indicating of scholastic achievement. School have a system of continuous and comprehensive evaluation. There are weekly class tests, unit tests, term exams, periodical tests. The promotion to the next class depends on the cumulative academic achievements of the students at the end of the academic session.

(e) Admission Procedure:


The names of the children seeking admission for class Nursery to XII to the school are registered from last week of January to March. For registration every candidate will be required to fill up a registration form properly. School strictly follows all the rules and regulations of RTE Act. o Registration form has to be then submitted to the school admission office along with :-

  • (i) Xerox of Birth Certificate
  • (ii) Original T.C. (Countersigned by Competent Authority)
  • (iii) Xerox of Previous Class Report Card
  • (iv) Two Passport Size Photographs
  • (v) Migration certificate for the student coming from other states/boards. Based upon the performance of the admission test, qualified candidates will be called for interview. Based on the performance of both, the candidates are granted admission to the class.

(f) Code of Conduct for students in Gurukripa Senior Secondary School:


  • (i) Presence in school with neat , clean and well-maintained school uniform is mandatory.
  • (ii) Students must wear the school identity card otherwise they might not be allowed to enter the school premises.
  • (iii) Every Student must be punctual in attending all classes, assemblies and activities.
  • (iv) Students are expected to converse only in English while on school premises. However, this rule is not applicable during Hindi and Sanskrit periods.
  • (v) An ideal student of Gurukripa Senior Secondary School is expected to nurture some valuable qualities like gentleness , politeness, honesty and integrity. They must be courteous too. Words like ' Thank you', 'Sorry', 'Please' and 'Excuse me' must be made a part of his/her everyday vocabulary.
  • (vi) The great Indian tradition of showing respect to parents, teachers and elders must be observed.
